Fashion photographer Elaine Constantine’s debut feature faithfully recreates scenes featuring a legion of genuine fans dancing to the compelling rhythms of often obscure ’60s American soul artists.

Matt and John cement their friendship and discover themselves in the process, and characters played by Steve Coogan, Ricky Tomlinson and real-life soul diva Lisa Stansfield enhance the film’s narrative strength. Good-natured humour infuses the entire enterprise, and ultimately the music is the highly infectious message.
