Marking 25 years since the release of Morrissey’s debut solo single Suedehead, this legacy concert film is the first from Morrissey in almost a decade. It records an intimate performance in March of this year at Hollywood High School -  whose alumni fittingly include Lana Turner, Judy Garland and Ricky Nelson.

Introduced by comedian and superfan Russell Brand, Morrissey rips through a career-spanning set that includes a liberal smattering of Smith classics, plenty of audience banter, and the customary stage invasions, costume changes, flower-throwing and general adulation. From latter-day triumphs like I’m Throwing My Arms Around Paris, through early solo classics Ouija Board, Ouija Board and You’re The One for Me, Fatty, to a moving rendition of The Boy With the Thorn in His Side, Morrissey 25 offers a sweeping retrospective on the career of an icon. 

“I’m here for the same reason as all of you,” Brand tells the crowd. “To pay respects to Morrissey”. After the health scares and tour cancellations that followed the Hollywood show, this very special screening gives his Northampton fans the chance to do the same.
