A young orphan nicknamed Eggs (voiced by Hempstead Wright, Game Of Thrones’ Bran Stark) lives with a cheerful bunch of garbage-collecting creatures, the Boxtrolls, in secret caverns beneath the streets of Cheesebridge.

But when the heinous local exterminator, Archibald Snatcher (Kingsley), plots to rid the town of Boxtrolls, Eggs bravely ventures above ground in order to try to save them. In doing so he recruits the feisty young Winnie (Fanning).

Based on the bestselling children’s novel Here Be Monsters! by Alan Snow, the pair’s adventures unfold in richly colourful and entertaining stop-motion animation by the creators of Coraline and Paranorman. Also onboard are Toni Collete and Simon Pegg as Winnie’s posh parents, the Portley-Rinds.
