Welcome in the New Year with Sir Simon Rattle and Berlin Philharmoniker. Enjoy two of the most popular Hungarian Dances by Brahms, as well as three of the beautiful Slavonic Dances by Dvořák. The concert also features the melodies from the ballet Gayaneh, by the Soviet Armenian composer Aram Khachaturian, including the famous Sabre Dance, alongside the third movement of Paul Hindemith’s Symphonic Dances.

The programme is complemented with Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No.3. After his New Year’s Eve concert performance in 2009, the gifted pianist Lang Lang now returns to Berlin’s Philharmonic Hall’s stage, to enchant audiences with his brilliant, sensitive piano playing.
