BBC Music and Learning have created a ground-breaking initiative designed to open up the world of classical music in a fresh and exciting way to a generation of children and inspire their creativity.  Ten Pieces is the BBC’s biggest investment in music education and will be launched with a spectacular cinematic film for Secondary school children introducing them to 10 pieces of classical music. Celebrity presenters, live action and animation will bring the music to life.

The film will feature performances of each of the Ten Pieces, including the first movment of Beethoven’sSymphony No. 5 and the Finale from Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite, by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, as well as an introduction to the music from Blue Peter‘s Barney Harwood. It will be the start of a year of discovery of music for pupils in schools across the UK.

There is also an opportunity to supplement your school’s Ten Pieces film viewing with a Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Meet The Player session.
