Final year film student receives the inaugural Errol Flynn Filmhouse Award
Film student Rebecca Merison has been honoured with the inaugural “Errol Flynn Filmhouse Award for Achievement in Film and Screen Studies” and accepted the award outside the cinema on 27 July.
The University of Northampton Film and Screen Studies student, who graduated last week, was selected for her outstanding effort, engagement and achievement during the three years of her course.
Dr David Simmons, Senior Lecturer in English and Screen Studies at The University of Northampton commented: “It’s a pleasure to be able to reward Becky’s outstanding performance during her three years at the University of Northampton. Becky has been one of our most committed and enthusiastic students, with a passion for film and screen studies that has seen her achieve a first class degree.”
Martin Sutherland, our Chief Executive, added: “We are delighted to be able to sponsor this award, as part of our ongoing commitment to supporting the next generation of film makers in Northamptonshire.”
The Errol Flynn Filmhouse sponsors this award, for which we donate a free 12-month cinema pass as a prize.
