At the Northampton Filmhouse we aim to make all our guests feel warmly welcomed and to provide an experience to which you will want to return. If you cannot find the information required listed here please do not hesitate to contact Customer Services on 01604 626222 or please speak to a member of staff during your visit, who will be happy to assist you.
The Northampton Filmhouse entrance is located just off Derngate, and each screen is accessed via the walkway and through the automatic accessible door. Royal & Derngate Box Office is located off Swann Street and is accessible off the street via the assisted entrance door. Please note that you can book tickets in advance from www.northamptonfilmhouse.com. Alternatively there are two options to purchase tickets in person in the filmhouse: from the automated kiosk located in the Royal & Derngate foyer (near the cinema entrance) or from the cinema bars, which open 30 minute before the start of the film.
The bar, kiosk and auditoria are all located on the same floor, making access to each as easy as possible. Within the Royal & Derngate space, entered via the assisted entrance door, there is an adapted toilet with Radar key.
An induction loop is available in the filmhouse and at Royal & Derngate Box Office. The filmhouse offers Audio Description; for a headset or induction loop please ask a member of staff within the filmhouse.
Information for which films have audio description can be found at http://www.northamptonfilmhouse.com/film-categories/audio-described/ – please note, this is updated on a weekly basis so do check regularly.
We offer regular Descriptive Subtitled screenings, with descriptive English language subtitles providing additional auditory information for the deaf and hard of hearing. Information for films which have a Descriptive Subtitled option can be found at: http://www.northamptonfilmhouse.com/film-categories/descriptive-subtitles/
Our disabled customers are entitled to the concessionary rate for all events in the filmhouse. There is also a concessionary rate for carers. If you are a wheelchair user, simply inform Royal & Derngate Box Office when booking as there are a limited number of wheelchair spaces in the filmhouse.
There are a number of disabled badge holders’ parking spaces to the front of Royal & Derngate in Albion Place surface car park, and disabled badge holders can park free along Derngate in permitted spaces.
Our Parent and Baby screenings take place on Wednesaday mornings and offer an environment that encourages parents to attend with their young ones in a relaxed, social environment. Subtle changes, such as having the ‘lights up’ and ‘sound down’, create a stress free zone for you and your baby. Nappy changing facilities are also available nearby. Tickets for Parent and Baby Screenings can be booked by calling 01604 624811 or by visiting our Box Office.
The autism friendly films also incorporate the above changes, keeping the experience as relaxed and stress-free as possible. We won’t be showing the trailers or the adverts, and people are free to move around during the film and to make some noise.
