Due to overwhelming demand, Errol Flynn Filmhouse has programmed extra screenings of Behind The Candelabra, on Saturday 13 July, and Summer In February on Sunday 14 July.

Stephen Soderbergh’s universally lauded Liberace biopic, Behind The Candelabra charts the flamboyant entertainer’s tempestuous relationship with handsome but vulnerable young animal trainer Scott Thorson (Matt Damon). The Daily Telegraph’s Robbie Collin declared that the movie ‘proves why film still needs Steven Soderbergh’, and in The Observer Philip French hailed Michael Douglas’ ‘sheer brilliance’ in the role of Liberace.

Based on the love triangle between the artists Alfred Munnings, Florence Carter-Wood and Captain Gilbert Evans, Summer In February is played out against the timeless beauty of the Cornish coast, in the approaching shadow of The Great War. Dominic Cooper, Emily Browning and Downton’s Dan Stevens star in this perfectly-judged, period drama, praised by The Spectator’s art critic Andrew Lambirth as ‘vivid as a Munnings masterpiece’.

Summer In February returns to the Errol Flynn Filmhouse on Sunday 14 July at 8.30pm. Behind The Candelabra can be seen on Wednesday 3 July at 6pm and Thursday 4 July at 8.15pm, with the extra screening taking place on Saturday 13 July at 8.30pm.
